Pixelating Images

Pixelate is a really cool image effect that you can use on pretty much anything you are making. I think it looks great and I use it on alot of my layouts.

Step 1: First, choose the picture or layout that you are going to use. To demonstrate I am just going to use a picture.

Step 2: Next, find the layers palette(usually on the right hand side) and right click on the layer with the image. If the layer with your image on it says Background you will need to double-click it and press ok. Once you right click the layer, click Duplicate Layer. It should say (Layer Name) copy. It should look something like this below.

Step 3: Go to Filter >> Pixelate >> Mosaic A box will come up like this, asking you what size you want the pixels to be. I am choosing 10. You can choose whatever size you want.

Step 4: Your picture should look something like this:

Step 5: You aren't done yet! Now you need to change the opacity of the layer. You can change it to whatever you think looks good! I am choosing 50%. Now it should look something like this.

Step 6: And that's it! Now you can add whatever else you want; whether it be borders, text etc. Another thing I like to do with my pictures is to make it easier to see the person's face. So what I do is I take the circle brush, set it to the necessary size, set the hardness to 0, and erase the part of the image where their face is. It will look like this!

Hope this helped!
